The viking warrior skull is based off of my passion for history, it was hand sculpted and carved with the focal point being the symbol known as the Helm of Awe which was created in Norse Mythology to inspire awe and fear: it's eight arms that look like spiked tridents radiate out from a central point (the red swarovski crystal), as if defending that central point by going on the offensive against any and all hostile forces that surround it and was also considered a symbol of upcoming victory. The dragon like symbol on the shield is known as an Ouroboros, which was actually emblematic of ancient Egypt and Greece represented with its tail n its mouth, continually devouring itself and being reborn from itself. An Ouroboros expresses the unity of all things, material and spiritual, which never disappear but perpetually change form in an eternal cycle of destruction and re-creation.

Skull and Axe Heads are Hand Sculpted in Clay by Peter then molded and re-casted in Resin
Hand Painted and Battle worned Skull and Axes.by Peter Perlegas. (Skull contains ancient viking Rune symbols on sides of skull, the Helm of Awe Carved on the forehead and viking rope patterns on the sides and nose bridge.)
18mm RED Swarovski Crystal embedded in Skull to create Helm of Awe Symbol.
Curly Maple Axe Handles with 100% Genuine black leather wraps.
Shield is hand made using poplar wood planks, aged, textured and hand painted with "Ouroboros" symbol (Dragon eating itself) with a hand tooled distressed leather rim and metal finishing nails
Back of shield is stained and finished with hardware and ready to hand wire.
Hand signed and numbered on back of shield, comes with a Certificate of Authenticity
Each sculpture is 24"x 24" shield
OPTIONAL LED MULTI-COLOR NEON light backing. Comes with ON/OFF RMOTE that changes to 12 differnet colors and intensities. LED lights are 120V standard to US electricity, INTERNATIONAL customers will require a voltage converter.
